Message from Our President

Welcome to Prantoz Jubo Songho. Founded on September 30, 2020, we work to ensure equal rights, dignity, and opportunities for Hijra and marginalized youth in Khulna. We are registered with the Department of Youth Development (Khulna-101/2025).

We have successfully implemented projects on education, health, SRHR, climate action, and livelihoods with partners like COC Netherlands, USAID, and Bondhu. Our ongoing initiatives include the Youth Share-Net Project, Renewable Energy and Clean Air Project, Water Hyacinth Eco-craft, and Resourcing Resilience Grant.

We believe in community-led change and inclusivity. We invite you to join us in building a just and equitable society.

Organization at a Glance

Prantoz Jubo Songho is a youth-led, community-based organization working to advance the rights, dignity, and overall well-being of Hijra (Gender Diverse) communities and marginalized youth in Khulna district. Founded in 2020, the organization emerged from the lived experiences of young activists who recognized the deep-rooted exclusion, discrimination, and lack of opportunities faced by Hijra and marginalized youth in education, health, employment, and social participation.

Thematic Areas of Work

Education Reintegration and Counseling

Conducting regular counseling and motivation sessions to support school drop-out Hijra and marginalized students in returning to formal or alternative education systems.

Health and SRHR Awareness

Implementing community-based awareness activities on HIV, AIDS, STIs, and SRHR, ensuring access to accurate information while addressing stigma, discrimination, and misinformation.

Climate Change and Environmental Awareness

Raising awareness among Hijra and marginalized youth on climate change, its local impacts, and adaptive practices, and actively participating in climate-related workshops, campaigns, and dialogues.

Skills Development and Employability Support

Providing CV writing training and employability preparation for Hijra and marginalized youth, and facilitating access to skills development opportunities through government and non-government institutions.

Community Networking and Mobilization

Organizing networking meetings with Hijra and youth groups across different upazilas of Khulna to strengthen collaboration, peer learning, and local-level development engagement.

Legal Aid and Psychosocial Support

Offering legal support, mental health counseling, and referrals for general healthcare services to address the multidimensional challenges faced by target communities.

Advocacy and Social Engagement

Observing national and international days related to human rights, youth, gender equality, and health, and actively participating in broader social and community development initiatives.
